MSHCT allows coverage from the occiput to T2 with 1 mm slices. Bony structures abutting the medulla are well depicted (double arrow). Near isotropic scanning yields axial MPRs tangential to the disc spaces (dotted line) with excellent detail. This eliminates the need to angle the gantry separately for each level during scanning.
