Mengenal calcium scoring with ECG triggering

The presence of coronary artery calcification indicates coronary artery disease. The amount of coronary artery calcium correlates with the severity of disease. The accuracy and reproducibility of coronary artery calcium measurements with electron beam (ultrafast) CT and helical (spiral) CT are similar. The accuracy of CT is higher than the stress electrocardiogram in diagnosing coronary artery disease in asymptomatic people.

Dedicated software on CT-workstation calculates amount of calcium in coronary vessels and provides scoring.
